The Boat That Rocks

Eatme

Eatme

We had a good early evening stroll from Weymouth out to Portland and the warm lights of The Boat That Rocks Restaurant caught our eyes so we went in to see how their evening menu fares.

Inside the light airy room that has plenty of tables for a large number to eat and a long bar to get served at if you can’t wait for the waitress service that they provide. Half the tables were laid up for meals already as we caught them in that in-between time, do they cater for drinkers or eaters? So they set up for either (or both depending on how you look at it).

Settled at a table with a good view of the boats in the Marina, the waitress brings over a couple of menus and I also grab a wine list. The Wine list is pretty good and reasonably priced so I went for a mid-range Cab Sav and asked for a jug of tap water to boot. With the Red on the way it was down to the serious study of the evening menu. They have pretty much something for all tastes on the menu and a selection of Specials on the blackboard, all looked good to me, I opted for the Duck.

Service was prompt and the food was very good, the prices reasonable and the overall ambiance onf the place was top notch, I’ve sailed in this boat before and will do so again!

After dinner we re-located to the comfy setees to relax further, a very pleasant way to spend an evening, they managed to score a good 80% from me.
